great place to start
What You’ll Get
You're the default CMO
You founded the company. Somewhere along the way, you also became the one writing briefs, reviewing copy, and wondering why nothing ships on time.
Your team is capable but directionless
The marketers are good. The designers are good. Nobody knows what to prioritize, so everything gets prioritized and nothing gets done.
You're between marketing leaders
Your last head of marketing left. You need someone senior to hold things together while you hire right. Six months of drift is expensive.
A full-time CMO is premature
The salary, the equity, the ramp time. You're not at that stage yet. You need senior judgment without the senior overhead.
BY THE NUMBERS
Sixteen years. Two companies. One very specific skill set
16 Years
Across content, marketing, and operations — building from the ground up and scaling what already existed
2 Founder Stints
Built Vaak (AI productivity) and led marketing at Starweaver — both sides of the founding table
6 Countries
Worked across markets in Asia, Europe, and beyond — with clients including National Geographic India, Discovery Channel, and Spotify
3-Month Minimum
Every engagement starts with a 3-month retainer. Enough time to actually change something.
AI VIDEO HACK
Weekly thinking on AI, marketing, and the creative systems that actually hold up. No noise. No filler. Just the stuff worth reading.
Strategy that ships. A team that knows what to do next. Marketing that holds up under pressure.
What this looks like in practice: weekly or biweekly strategy sessions, async availability for decisions and reviews, direct involvement in positioning, campaigns, and partnerships when needed, and honest guidance on team structure and hiring. I don't hand off frameworks and disappear. I stay in the room until the work is done.
TESTIMONIALS
See what our customers
are saying
We'd been running marketing without any real direction for about eight months. Vani came in, figured out what was broken in the first two weeks, and built a system the team could actually follow. Six months later we had a functioning content engine and a hire we were confident in.
I was doing the marketing myself and it was costing me in ways I couldn't see clearly. Vani helped me step back, figure out what actually mattered, and hand things off without losing momentum. She thinks like a founder, which made the handoff feel real instead of theoretical.

Why Work
With Me

I've built from scratch
I founded Vaak, an AI productivity tool. I know what early-stage marketing looks like from the inside, not just from the advisory chair.

I've scaled what exists
At Starweaver, I worked at the scale end. Both directions inform how I think about marketing decisions at different stages.

I stay close to execution
Strategy that doesn't touch execution is expensive guesswork. I stay in the room until the work ships. That's not a promise. That's just how I work.

I speak four languages
Founder, marketer, engineer, designer. I've worked with all of them. Translation is half the job, and I don't need a glossary.

Deep AI fluency
I use AI across content, operations, and production workflows. That means faster cycles, sharper output, and fewer tools collecting dust.
Real stories, real results. Dive into how I helped teams automate workflows, save time, and scale smarter with AI.

Ask Your Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What does a fractional CMO actually do?
A fractional CMO provides senior marketing leadership on a part-time or retainer basis. In practice, that means setting marketing strategy, prioritizing the work, directing the team, advising on hiring, and staying close enough to execution that decisions translate into outcomes. The engagement replaces the need for a full-time chief marketing officer during an early or transitional stage.
How is a fractional CMO different from a marketing consultant?
A consultant typically scopes a project, delivers a recommendation, and exits. A fractional CMO stays in the business. I attend leadership meetings, work with your team week to week, and remain accountable to results over the length of the engagement. The distinction matters most when execution is the problem, not just strategy.
What size company is this right for?
This engagement works best for pre-Series A and Series A startups without a marketing leader, founders who have been running marketing themselves and need to step back, and growth-stage companies navigating a leadership transition. If you have a functioning CMO in place, this is probably not the right fit.
How long does a typical engagement last?
The minimum engagement is three months. Most engagements run three to six months. Some continue longer, depending on where the company is in its growth and whether a full-time hire has been made. I’ll tell you when the engagement has served its purpose.
